Buckskin breeches, all hand stitched, quite beautifully. Medium fall, pocket on proper left and watch pocket opposite. Appears as though the leather web spanning the notch in the back was slit to give a wider fit. 4 suspender buttons and one to close first pocket; 3 close the front, 2 the fall, and 2 more below the knees (1 each). Each is made of horn with a metal shank, covered with buckskin. At the knees are 4 buttonholes each with an early, thick, MOP button with swaged and drilled shank, hand worked and unquestionably of the period and original to the breeches. Size indicates it was for, probably, for a lanky but full-height youthCollection
