A photograph of a young woman in a black silk or fine wool dress. High round neckline with small white detachable collar. Brooch in CF of collar. Hair parted and simply pulled back and down in low bun, adorned with what looks like netting and ribbons. Long sleeves that are tight at forearm, but puffy at upper arm - perhaps early Aesthetic Movement dress. A bit of Renaissance Revival. She wears a silk taffeta "waist" over her dress. Subject is Harriet King Robinson.
Appears as though someone has gone over wrist and CF medallion with black marker or tinting.Photograph Details
