Description

Group of four adults in fashionable day dress. Seated outside. Both gentlemen wear fine wool frock coats with wide lapels. Cream merino wool trousers, not tight exactly but certainly fitted. The standing gentleman on the left wears a waistcoat of figured silk with medium height shawl lapels, single-breasted. The seated gentleman on the right wears a cream silk waistcoat, single-breasted, also with medium low shawl lapels. Both wear white shirts with buttons, turn-down collars, and large bowtie cravats of silk - left dark, right light in color. Both gentlemen also wear blonde wool hats - unlikely to be blonde beaver, but no impossible. Each hat possesses a grosgrain ribbon around the base of the brim with a flat bow on the right side of the hat. Leather boots on seated gentleman. Both women wear fashionable day dresses, consisting of three pieces - bodice, underskirt, and overskirt. The seated woman wears a dress of taffeta of a light shade of blue, green, or violet, trimmed in black ribbon. CF opening of bodice with the neckline high and round with frills filling in the spaces. Hair is up with large false braid in back, with small round "sailor boy" or "felt boy chapeau" hats. Trimmed in ribbons with ostrich plume. She wears a black lace shawl and hold a black lace parasol. The standing woman wears a day dress of white flounces, and large sleeves. V neckline and elbow openings are trimmed in dark color, and underskirt has horizontal stripes in same black. She wears a similar "felt boy chapeau" hat, trimmed in black ribbons. A black dog with white chest patch sits in middle of group. All subjects are unknown.
