Black painted turned wood stick, jointed, with bone ring handle and decorative brass ferrule. 3” brass slider; 6” brass joint cover with delicate wheel engraved rings. Steel stretchers with stirrup joints. 8 whalebone ribs wired at top. Turned 1.5” bone ferrule with ball tip. Brown hand stitched heavy cotton cover which might be period replacement. Ribs may have been cut down first; present cover conceals the rib ends. 33” long overall.Collection
