Description

Hand stitched dark brown silk taffeta cover with pointed hem. 3” brown silk fringe and same in pale yellow around hem and top; the yellow is stitched inside the cover hem. Wooden shaft painted white to the joint; carved bone shaft about 6” of the way, ending in 3.5” simply turned ivory section with vegetable ivory ball and small loop, each having simple etched swag motif. Finial is 1” carved bone with small drilled holes, perhaps to recieve a ring? Possibly the handle had one of those novelty viewers? 9” bamboo ribs ending with tiny turned knobs; Wire stretchers with saddle gits; wired top knotch. Elastic tie.
