Young girl's skirt made of silk taffeta. The pattern is a plaid chine or ikat pattern. The skirt is pleated in box pleats around the skirt and set to a waistband. The waistband has buttonholes around the circumference to be attached to a separate bodice. Infant waist" construction. Buttonholes are hand-sewn. The skirt's top waistband edge of bound in blue silk taffeta, which is also echoed by two blue horizontal stripes of the same blue silk taffeta 3/4 down the skirt above the hem. There is a generous turn down of silk taffeta as seam allowance at the waist. The hem is turned up twice, and sewn down. Lined with a plain weave cotton in brown; not glazed. There is both hand-stitching (the base of the skirt) and machine-stitching (blue silk taffeta additions).Collection
