Lace flounce 11.5” high by 38” long, both sides scalloped. with what looks like an Alencon needle point ground incorporating Honiton motifs. The overall design looks typical of the last quarter of the 18th C There is a border on either side of the width giving the effect of twisting ribbons of leaves and small flowers with an intricate mesh filling. In between these two edges is a delicate serpentine floral design on a wide mesh reseau. The top and bottom edges of this piece appear to have been cut; originally it was a longer lace accessory. A very unusual and rare piece of Honiton lace."Collection
