Shell cameo with taupe background, ivory raised carved portion. It is a finely carved picture of Hebe, Greek Goddess of Youth. She is with her father, Zeus, in the guise of an eagle, offering him a cup. The eagle's wings are carefully carved, as is his fierce break. Hebe is sitting on clouds, with Greek draperies and a naked shoulder. Her hairstyle is Greek and she has a straight nose. Cameo is encircled with sterling silver. On the back is a strap in sterling silver to provide additional support. Soldered onto it is a tube hinge and c clasp. Stamped onto it is A.B. in a rectangle. 2" long. 1 5/8" wideCollection
