"Hand knit stockings made of tightly spun white cotton, above calf-height. Elaborate, if not over-the-top, bands of pattern from toe to top. Two diamond shaped fields of shell or leaf pattern on the top of the foot, with a small diamond like on top of a clock. Three bands around leg are: an openwork diamond pattern; a wide, bulging zigzag trail of bosses on mesh ground; a large, openwork herringbone. The welt has a row of lace diamonds and a scalloped top edge. Shaped heel of a tight stitch; star toe."Collection
