"Fine machine knit ivory lisle stockings with large pattern of zigzag openwork alternated with leafy vines over the front of the foot, surrounded with embroidered floral border. Seam under the foot, square heel, slightly rounded toe. Initials AJH worked in blue thread on narrow cuff. Foot 9”, 22” high.Part of Anna Hopkin Dyer’s wedding attire." "Stored in white box 2008.078. Inscription inked in corner of lid: “Wedding dress & other articles 1833 Oct. 8th”From the family of Elisha Dyer, b 1811. Married Anna Jones Hoppin in 1833. Governor of RI 1857-1859. Son Elisha Jr. governor of RI . Son William Jones Dyer b 1850. Married Lillian Pitman Greene. (LGD) Their daughter, Anna Jones Dyer (AJD) wrote some of these notes."
