Shirtlike form that appears to be a bathing costume (or perhaps some form of bed or hospital gown?) for a girl. Entirely hand stitched heavy white cotton. Made with flaring shape like a chemise (no vents), the width on each front side augmented with a strip from shoulder to hem, joined by butting selvages on the left only. Underarm gussets under full-length, rather skimpy shirt sleeves gathered into cuffs with buttons, one a simple dorset, the other a pressed pewter. Neck gussets, 2 “ standing collar secured with pair of PW linen tape ties. No reinforcements. Deep front slit with bias gusset. “S Russell 4” inked at proper LF near collar.Collection
