Description

Little boy’s DB waistcoat made of heavy dark brown mohair [?] forming fine pinwale effect punctuated with tiny white diamond shapes. Entirely hand stitched. Lined and backed with brown PW cotton, no back adjustment of any kind. Short and wide with a slight point at CF. Narrow back — deep set, large armscyes. Turnover collar, revers formed by flipping top of body back. Level welt pockets at each side. 6 black silk covered dome buttons on either side, aligned diagonally to converge at CF bottom. This seems strange since the buttons appear to be in the original positions and show heavy wear, yet by buttoning them in any way, except to button the lowest one only, the waistcoat is misaligned.
