Tan leather wallet made to fold up into 5 sections, secured by a long strap through loops on the outside. Inside has white kid flaps across length of the middle three sections to hold paper currency. There is a double pocket across each end, the outer one covered with a white flap.
One long flap has inked inscription: “Aug. 29, 1859, A.G. Wheeler Place of Residence. Meridian, Cayuga Co. NY
Under the flaps there are a one-hundred-dollar Confederate bill (Richmond) signed August 13, 1862; a two-dollar bill, and a five-dollar bill on the Bank of MonroeCollection
