Description

Infant long gown of fine white cotton muslin. Long skirt is set into waistband of embroidered cotton. Bodice has bobbin lace insertion tape. Short sleeves with tucks and more embroidered fabric flounce. Neckline is a drawstring, which continues to the back and acts as CB closure ties. Entirely hand-stitched. A few light stains and holes. Lace in bodice is torn in places. Came with accompanying note, which reads: "Lucretia Harrington born July 30, 1831 in the Batavia-Pembroke area. This is her baby dress. IN march 28, 1855 she was married to Nathanial Hucker II. Note hand made."
