Description

Entirely hand-stitched waistcoat made of knitted yarn. Single-breasted. Long, pointed bottom. Concealed button placket. 5 small dark vegetable ivory buttons. Collarless. 2 short welt pockets made of wool. Back is lined with red flannel. Front lined with brown twilled, glazed cotton. Front opening and bottom faced with Italian. Period repairs to back neck which was not reinforced in any way. Inside interlined with sized linen which shows where the lining has worn away and been repaired. Hand-stitched drill patch pocket inside left front, closes with a pair of brass pants buttons.
