Wallet or small portfolio of red Morocco, lined with tan leather with various tooled decorative borders, and rose patterned paper, not marbled- looks like wet-on-wet stamping. pink liner on inner tab. Several compartments including a divider with sections for pencils etc. Gold stamped lettering on top. Gold stamped lettering on top edge reads: BENJAMAN JOY, SURRY. 1805. Within a narrow pocket made in the wall of one section is what looks like a tiny pencil but is a decoratively turned steel implement that looks like an awl of some kind, 2 3/8” long.Collection
