"a) Hip length, rather close fitting cape shaped to the shoulders, no collar but a shallow V-neck opening. No closures, no lining. Made of (now) cream colored net with tamboured (Limerick) design of simple floral vine and scrolls all over. Border design and seam designs show it was designed for this purpose. The seams are embellished with a short net frill. Embroidered straight lines in position where arm slits would be suggest that this could have had arm slits if desired, or perhaps was intended as an overlay on a more substantial cape material, with arm slits.b) single ‘sleeve’ that surely was removed from this although the design is different."Collection
