Description

Fine India muslin embroidered in white cotton with some Chikan stitches (stems) plus padded satin stitch, tambour, knots, and modest drawn thread work. Pattern emulates cone motifs and borders of Kashmir shawls: 4 cones with extra leaflet dangling from tip, across ends; narrow borders up sides of acanthus and leaf vine. Corner cones. Appears to be ‘Anglo-Indian’ work.
