G96.107Description
Entirely hand stitched full length cloak with large wide hood. Sapphire blue plain weave, hard-twisted wiry fiber that seems to answer the description of hair (mohair M.I.D.) camlet. Has strangely beautiful depth of color. Cut with ‘slope’ on front panel; gored at sides. Pleated as one with lining into neckline; lined with green coarse plain weave wool, one piece shaggy and denser, the rest very coarse. No arm slits. Lining hemmed about 2” above outer fabric. Wide hood rests over shoulders; lined with pale blue silk at base, thinner silk in middle where it doesn’t show, none at front. Drawstring 1” from edge forms frill effect; edges bound with piped pale blue silk. Small rounded collar piped with same.Collection
