Description

Entirely hand-stitched suit made of indigo blue cotton with tiny discharge white dots. High-waisted top with V-neck. Single-breasted with long tubular sleeves. Long narrow pants with side openings. The inside of the top is reinforced with a heavy tow linen strip at the ‘waist’ to receive domed brass-capped bone buttons, the early kind with catgut cross threads for attachment to the garment. Three buttons down the front (the bottom one is hidden by the pants); two on each side and three in the back. One button each on the center edge of the triangular extension which wraps the top of pants toward the back for a neat look in front. Pants have had long triangular inserts installed into the inseam to give a little more leg room. The top front of the pants is lined with two shades of blue linen.
