Description

Entirely hand-stitched little boy's suit made of blue and white striped cotton. Pants (a) - fairly high-waisted pants, the attached bodice of the same fabric, that buttons up the back; pants button to the bodice waist in back; long side openings with a deep pocket reached through a vertical welt on the right side. Unlined. Buttons are die-cast gilt brass, concave with a hammered pattern, attached for serious use by inserting the shank through the cloth and sewing to a heavy linen or cotton reinforcement strip. One button was replaced with a similar kind in the back on top, and three more across the back. Buttons down each side opening. Spencer Jacket (b) - single breasted has self-facing in front, to sides; pocket inside left front. Standing collar, shaped sleeves with fullness on top, separate cuff, and one button at the base. The center front buttons stop short of the top.
