G95.075Description
Speculated to have been hand-stitched. Girl's mantle made of soft fine brown twilled silk warp with fine merino wool weft. Lined with robin’s egg blue glazed cotton. Hip-length pointed front sections with openings cut at the sides for arms, shaped to form an overhang on the arm. Rounded back section. Piped side seams. Edged with deep garnet-brown silk upholstery fringe, bordered with violet soutache braid applied in leafy scroll design. This could of been for a small woman, but most likely a girls.Collection
