Daguerreotype of Hannah Bissell Backus (1779-1868). Hannah was born in Connecticut and married Nathaniel Backus in 1812. They settled in Western, New York. This photo dates to around 1855-1865. The museum also has a coverlet commissioned by her (2026.02.001).
