Description

Entirely hand stitched thin cotton dressing gown. Wide white cross checks on brown ground. Pieced a lot. Skirt gathered onto piped waist in back. The back bodice is tightly shirred at waist and neckline with a sparse row of shirring across shoulder blades. No drawstrings. V-neckline opening extends to below waist. Full sleeves with rows of shirring at top, two at wrist above band cuff. Pocket slit at proper left. Long self ties attached at side seams. Bodice and sleeves lined with heavy cream plain weave cotton recycled from dress use, pieced at wrist. Front sections free of dress fabric with two straight pins at the ready in angled position. Two more are ready for service stuck into outside of proper left cuff. Can be expanded for maternity wear
