Description

Fine black wool scarf. Matching borders at each end, composed of 3 border pieces. The topmost is a 5” wide tapestry band (composed of 2 horizontal bands joined to create symmetrical design) with pale blue, pale green, olive, white and yellow horizontally symmetrical abstract designs on a red ground (red warp). The next is 2” wide with a finer leafy scroll variation with red, pink, olive, yellow and black on a white ground (red warp); has two narrow black borders. Four gates with 1/2” self fringes: yellow, black, turquoise, red with wool (?) and cotton embroidered details; related embroidered details on black along top border. Each side finished along the entire length with attached olive twill edge, very meticulously applied. Borders appear designed as such but the ends are not perfectly identical.7” x 54
