Description

Brown shadow plaid wool challis with brown silk velvet plastron front, cuffs, and back inset panel which travels into the skirt drape and hem. Dyed gutta perchas buttons. Neckline is filled in with machined netting, pleated and gathered. CF left side closure of hooks and eyes. BOdice is lined with brown PW cotton, with baleen stays across waist area. Back of skirt in lined partially with same PW brown cotton fabric, with ties to allow the train/back of the skirt ot be drawn up as desired. Originally part of the collectionat ohio State University Historic Costume and Textiles Collection
