Description

Fine black twilled wool center. Main twill tapestry border composed of black ‘patches’ forming reversed arabesque pairs, inset on ground of small butas in red, pink, blue, gold, green, white and black. Inner border of reversed scroll pairs formed from green, white, blue or red twilled wool, inset into black field, then embroidered carefully in the 7 colors to form larger, elaborate design on black field. Outer border made of separate wide and narrow “gates” of red, pink, green, blue, gold, white and black, embroidered in all colors with mini ‘flower [?] of life.’ 3/4” fringes all around.Very well-executed.
