Entirely hand stitched fine cotton shirt front and dorset buttons. Very high collar with spaced edges, 2 buttons. Narrow very finely pleated bosom with 6 buttons. Neck gussets, finely topstitched. Exquisite work. Body made of pieces, including butted selvages on proper left. Paper wrapper which may or may not have original or direct connection with the shirt front. About 16” x 20” piece of tan wrapping paper bearing a large scrawled ink inscription: “W.H. Shields Esqr C/O Gordon and Richards ExpressCollection
