Description

Fine creamy white kid slippers, straights. Hand stitched. No heels, slightly rounded toes; back seam and side seams. Narrow ruched white silk ribbon across low, straight throat; small bow of wider ribbon with picot edges. 3/4” white silk ribbon ties with pinked ends; attached at throat. Edged with double stitched white silk; lined with coarse linen. No marks. Soles have ring stamps. One sole has dark polished area under heel, but they are obviously, a pair One shoe has penciled inscription on inner sole: “Mother’s before she was married” and “1812” seems to have been penciled on each sole outside.
