Description

Lady's 2-piece dress made of silk taffeta. The taffeta has a woven pattern of golden yellow ground with a field of small white-ish hearts and black dashes. Bodice (a) - made of figured silk taffeta. Short puffed sleeves and wide scooping neckline. Pigeon breast front with the center front closure that closes with hidden hooks and eyes. The sewn pleated waistband of yellow silk taffeta. The neckline and short sleeves are trimmed with a gathered panel of silk gauze. Lined with a fine cotton sateen with stays on steel across the back and lower center front beneath drooping mono-bosom. Skirt (b) - made of one layer of the figured silk taffeta, without any lining or hem treatment. Two rows of ruffled yellow silk taffeta (same as waistband fabric - one at the hem and one about a foot above the hem). Shaped panels, flat in the front and sides, but pleated deeply in the center back. Attached to the small waistband of self-fabric. Hook and eye closure.
