Hand stitched black alpaca or wool shoes with high laced slit vamp, no tongue. Straights. No heel. Center back seam. Patent leather toe cap and heel piece. Black silk ribbon binding, .5” ribbon lace (fragment remaining). White twilled cotton lining, coarse inner sole. No marks. Old stitched repair. 10” long. Note on gummed flap of envelope, pencil: “My grandmothers Turner’s slippers old over 100 years my mother own mothers
