One pair of white kid leather evening slippers with original box. Slippers are lined with white cotton twill (and kid leather insole) and bound with white grosgrain ribbon. Narrow, squared toe; low French heel, covered with white kid. Vamps are decorated with a large leather bow edged with white silk/cotton passementerie and with a metal "buckle" in the center, showing Colonial Revival influence. Two off-white silk moire ribbons are sewn to each shoe as ties.
The cardboard box is an elongated trapezoid and is covered with a purple-black, shiny paper with a moire pattern. The inside is lined with old yellow tissue. One end has two paper labels pasted on top of each other. The lower one is black and white, with the notations, "1 Pair White Kid Slippers / Size 4 Width, M" and the top label is printed in blue with the store name and location: "Eagle Shoe Store./Hewes & McCann...Cincinnati." The box lid is separate and missing its sides.Collection
