Gown of a dark green silk twill (surah), lined in bodice with off-white cotton. Jewel neckline over center front closure. Bodice gathered slightly on either side of waist in front and across back. Proper left edge of opening is piped, while proper right is a narrow hem; shoulder seam, armscye, and side back seams are also piped. (Front lining hangs free.) Skirt was possibly a full apron-front at one time, but is now gathered directly to proper left front of bodice and goes into a dog-leg closure over proper right side of bodice; entire skirt seems to have been removed from bodice and re-gathered. There are two tucks above hem, the lower one completely obscuring the hem itself. Long, curved sleeve, very full at shoulder, pleated to flared cuff at wrist, which fastens with a single self-fabric button.Collection
