Hello sister. Just a few lines [letting] you know that I'm still in the old field. Say they are letting us [k]now that [they're] going to keep us here now for good till the war is over. Well that don't sound good to me. I'd sooner go over and see the real stuff in France. A fellow never gets the truth as long as [you're] in the army. A fellow has got to work down here. But otherwise I'm feel[ing] alright. Not getting sick of army life yet. And I guess I never will. I'm to[o] tough for that. Although it gets awful hot. Say ain't you a little slow in ans[wering] my letters. [Hoping] [you're] all well and not worrying about me. Adoph. Best regards to all. This is the life.
