Scope and Content

The Warwick Glenn Harkness House is also known as Glenn Gables. Located at 985 Laurel Avenue, this Pivotal Structure incorporates one of Glendale's earliest structures, a loghouse built in 1830. Built by Robert Warwick, the property was sold to Edmund R. Glenn, Glendale's namesake, in 1835. Repeated enlargements and remodelings gave the house a cross-gabled appearance by 1860 and the present Queen Anne by the 1880s. In 2007, owners Stacy and Joe Hertenstein received the Cincinnati Preservation Award from the Cincinnati Preservation Society for the restoration of the house. Newspaper articles about the award are included in the folder.
