Glendale's Town Hall and Fire Station is located at 80 Sharon Avenue East. It is a Pivotal Structure built in 1875.
The Town Hall was probably the first major public building undertaking of the Village. Citizens voted their approval in 1869. Plans were drawn up but differences of opinion caused the project to be dropped. In 1874, the cost of labor had dropped and many citizens were in need of work, so the plans for Town Hall were resurrected.
Samuel Hannaford drew up the plans and in 1875 the three story brick structure was built in a Tuscan Villa-Romanesque composite style.Lexicon
