Scope and Content

The Pierce House, a Pivotal Structure, is located at 200 Sharon Avenue East. When the lots were auctioned off by the Glendale Association, the purchaser of this lot was the famous Nicolas Longworth of Cincinnati. He sold the lot to Charles Spinning who built his house in 1858. This is a large two story brick in the Tuscan Villa style. Note: This information comes from the "G" Book, page 71, however, it is not supported by the deed search. In that document, Charles Spinning sold the house to Joseph Longworth in 1875. In 2014, a new deed search was done which indicated the name on the plaque for this house, issued in 2014 at request of owners, indicated the name should be the "Pierce House".
