Scope and Content

The Acton Richardson House, a Contributing Structure, is located at 785 Ivy Avenue. This house, one of the earliest cottages erected in the village was moved up the hill from Fountain avenue. At its original location, it had a front walk to Ivy avenue and a back gate to Fountain. Before being moved this house was vacant for some twenty years. James Richardson and Annis Withenbury were married in 1896 and moved into the house in its present location. Since then, three generations of Richardsons were born in the house.
