This building, a Contributing Structure, located at 8-10 Village Square is one of the few to survive the fire that destroyed most of the Village Square in the 1880s. The three stores that make up the building have housed many different businesses - most frequently grocery establishments. Some of the businesses located here were grocery stores operated by William Bruce and William Blair, Thomas Charles, and Stanley Newton. Mr. Newton later moved his business next door to 11 Village Square. The Louis Folino Shoe Shop and Knecht's Men's Clothing and Knecht's dry cleaning business, Kathleen's Custom Cabinetry and Gold Medal PC have occupied the building. Tamara Berry studio is located there c. 2016- A 20 foot addition was made to the building sometime before 1900. The storefronts were altered sometime after WWII Source: Comprehensive Survey Report, Glendale's Heritage and Faran, Glendale Ohio, 1855-1955. According to Sherrin Knecht, her father in law had a haberdashery business at this location in 1925. Mrs. Clara Newton owned the building and Ray Knecht bought it to house his dry cleaning business.
