Scope and Content

The house, located at 505 Sharon Avenue East, is a Contributing Structure. Information about the Stevens family, who may have been the original occupants, is listed on the back of photo #315. "Home of Benjamin R. and Jarusha B. Stevens who were married in 1851 and came to Glendale in 1857. Had three daughters and three sons." Standing by dog: Tom Smith, sitting on porch Jarusha Stevens, on steps, Blanche Stevens, on porch-edge Clarebel Stevens and in carriage Benjamin R. Stevens, Jr. Clarebel Stevens became an artist and was associated with Rookwood Pottery.
