Scope and Content

Diary and assorted newspaper clippings and correspondence. Based on the names on some of the correspondence tucked into the pages of the diary, it may have been written by Carrie Shafer or another member of the Shafer family. The name, Caroline L. Schafer, appears on a receipt. Many Glendale names appear in the diary. The author makes reference to having rooms to rent and also mentions a servant named Liva frequently. A reference to a Henry M. Schafer also appears on a number of items.
