This house, located at 960 Laurel Avenue, is a Contributing Structure built in 1941. The house was built for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blinn. Archibald Denison was the architect . According to the Ohio Historic Inventory, the house may be the first example of a split-level house in Hamilton County.
The house was built of red bricks salvaged from the demolition of the Glendale Female College. The property was originally part of Lot 80 and Lot 84. Lot 84 was part of the William Grandin estate at 160 Fountain Avenue.
According to the 2005 House Owners Survey, the original design was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and included many built ins. The original blueprints are stored in the built in settee in the living room.
