Scope and Content

Glendale A Tone Poem was composed for the 150th Anniversary of Glendale. It was originally performed during the Sesquicentennial celebration in 2005. The composer is Edward F. Howard and the score is signed by Mr. Howard. The piece is divided into four parts: Morgan's Visit, The Lamplighter, Black Squirrels and Train Ride. In 2012, the music was once again performed by the Cincinnati Civic Orchestra on October 28, 2012 at the Glendale Lyceum. The program was titled "The American Civil War Our History, Our Music. Laurence Bonhaus, Music Director. Edward F. Howard, Assistant Conductor. A copy of the program is also located in Box 82. The score was given to Glendale Heritage Preservation, represented by Joanne Goode. Former mayor, Dr. Tom Todd, Mr. Bonhaus and Mr. Howard participated in the presentation.
