Scope and Content

This house, located at 1025 Laurel Avenue is a Contributing Structure built in 1940 in the English Colonial Revival Style. The house was enlarged in 1950 by the addition of a wing at the north elevation. The house was designed either by Harry Hake or his son, Harry Jr. Harry Hake, Jr. and his wife are listed in the 1957 Village directory (Source: Ohio Historical Survey) On the back of the photograph attached to this record is the statement "built by Alexander Thompson, Jr." The house was built on the property formerly occupied by the Glendale Female College.
