This house, located at 785 Congress, is a Contributing structure built in 1866. It is noted on the 1869 Titus Map. Sophia Igler is the earliest owner indicated on county records. Alma Igler Campbell and Eleanor Igler Latta became the owners in 1940 and Roger E. and Leigh Latta in 1980.
Identification on an early photograph labels the house as Porter-Latta House but the connection with the Porter family is not know other than the fact that John Henry Porter lived not too far distant at 40 Fountain Avenue West.
The house was extensively remodeled in bungalow manner in the early 20th century.
