General Notes

Note

Walnut handmade baby crib built by Dr. J.W. Pence of Columbus Junction, Iowa for his grandchild, Nina Gene Pence born in 1935. Sides of the crib fold down by pulling a wood stopper on each side of the bed. The spindles are 3/4 in wide - has a 5" thick spring mattress, cloth covered polyurethane are 1970. Because of new OSHA rules, could not legally use the bed due to wide gap between the spindles and that fact that the 2 pins could be pulled out and the side would fall. Has a "P" for Pence in the headboard, 1935 year born in the footboard.
