Context

Glenview Day/Fair was started in 1917 on Sept. 15 with the erection and dedication of a public drinking fountain in the village square, topped with a bear. This promoted high spirits and feelings of village pride, and an annual event called "Glenview Day" was held. In 1921, the Glenview Civic Association was created. The association works for the betterment and pride of Glenview and its citizens.
