Red Wool Long Dress with Red Velvet Trim

Description

Wool dress, red wool and maroon velvet applied decoration. Style: full length walking coat/dress. Closing: off center front opening with 14 small grey pearlized buttons (2 missing) underlining close; 10 buttons - dress coat is fully cotton khaki brown color - fitted bodice is boned, boned on 2 sides seams - one bone removed plus a waist cincher - Tailored long sleeves with maroon/burgundy 2-3/4" cuffs; cuffs are 2-3/4" wide. Decorative maroon 3-1/2" square is applied top of sleeved; stylized epaulette of velvet on cap of sleeve creates a slight puff appearance; Velvet accents down center front 2 flap, extensions of red wool off center front opening either side of velvet panel. Modified peter pan collar - bottom front of collar 3" straight each side 1" rolled back. Bodice: Three pleats on right and left front bodice. Back Bodice: One large center back pleat and 3 inverted - center front panel is pleated - pleats either side of center pleat; fitted back. Back Train, which has an 8" longer length in back vs. floor length in front; Hem is weighted with a 7" coarse hopsacking fabric sewn to dress skirt; Hem has 1/4" burgundy cording machine stitched to bottom of hem.
