The armchair belonged to the donor's ancestor, Margaret Dunn Conway, and her mother-in-law, Ella Conway of Chicago. Margaret's sister, Jane Dunn Crawford, handmade the antimacassars. Ella Conway's husband James and his brother Richard Conway were prominent Chicago contractors.Acquisition
