Black Faille Mantel with Soutash Braid and Black Lace

Description

Black Grograin Cape: Stand-up Collar of stiffen grograin under collar; outer collar: applied pleated open lace circling entire collar. Design: down front of cape is a double row of lace either side of center front; front close - 7 large hooks and eyes (some missing) - on bodice has additional 1" extension of lace to conceal hook and eye closure; 2" lace lies against front bodice; Decorative horseshoe shaped cording with brown and black coil forming the shape; hanging from the horseshoe are three tassels of 3 balls finished with a cone. Three inch decorative lace outlines tails on both sides center front and back (4 tails) and along sleeve extension Additional Applied Decoration is a black serpentine cord which is attached under the lace; it begins 3" below collar and continues around collar to back and down other side of front bodice. Sleeves: fitted cap, edge is formed by 4" black lace and serpentining cording; sleeve flare to 10" opening. Construction: seam down center back and seam from arms-eye shoulder to 2-3/4" off center back ends 18" - the two seams form a "V". Decorative Bow of black sild is located center back 14-7/8" from collar; bow is attached over a bunching of black lace.
